A Weekend of Successes

Congratulations to the following players representing Derbyshire in differing tournaments held over the weekend:

Ciara Shaw won a Silver medal in the  Singles and the Gold in the Doubles at the U15 Bronze event in Yorkshire

Hannah Bailey won a Bronze medal in the Doubles at the U15 Silver event in Yorks
Ragnar Mularczyk won a Bronze medal in the Doubles at the U15 Silver event in Yorks

Tiara Samuel won a Gold medal in the Singles at the U17 Silver event in Leigh
Sophie Brealey won a Bronze medal in the  Doubles at the U17 Silver event in Leigh 

Hannah Bailey won a Gold medal in the Singles, Doubles and Mixed events held in Dronfield
James Pinder won a Gold medal in the Singles, Gold medal in the Mixed and a Silver medal in the Doubles event held in Dronfield
Sophie Robinson won a Gold medal in the Doubles event held in Dronfield

In the event for our younger players at Dronfield:

Sam Jennings & Joe Orchard were runners-up in the Boys Doubles!

Sam Jennings also got to the semi-finals of the Singles losing to the eventual winner

Ellie Wheatley won the Singles & Doubles and if that wasn't enough was runner-up in the Mixed too..!

Elia Finocchio came 3rd in the Girls Singles.

U13 Tournament Success

Congratulations to the following players in the U13 West Midlands Silver tournament:

Jonathon Shaw wins Gold in the boys singles (silver extra event) only dropping one game in the route to the final.

Joe Daly wins Bronze in the boys singles (silver extra event) only narrowly losing to Jonathon Shaw in the Semi-Final.

Well done boys! Shame the draw didn't make an all Derbyshire final!

U11 Tournament Success

Congratulations to the following players who took part in the U11 East Staffordshire tournament:

David Hong winning Gold in the Singles event..

Amelia Teal and Bethany Sharples winning Bronze in the Doubles event.

U17 Gold Tournament Success

Congratulations to Daniel Hong who won a Bronze medal in the Singles at the U17 Gold event in Loughborough.

U13 Tournament Success

Congratulations to the following players taking part in the U13 Silver tournament in Loughborough:

After some tough draws and coming so close in previous events Grace King went all the way to win Gold in the girls U13 Singles Silver event. A fantastic achievement which required Grace to beat two Silver Graded players to claim top spot. Brilliant..!!

After reaching the final in the Nottinghamshire event Joe Daly went one better and won Gold in the U13 Singles event winning in great style knocking out the 1st, 2nd and 4th seeds before claiming his prize without dropping a single game - awesome Joe..!

In a tough group Sam Jennings managed to battle through to top honours and qualify for the knockout rounds in fine style winning his final group match and holding his nerve to win in three. Sam then came up against the number 2 seed and came very close to making it an all Derbyshire final narrowly losing out 17-15, 15-11. Excellent performance Sam for the Bronze medal in the singles.

Well done to all Derbyshire players playing in this event.

U15 Leigh Gold Tournament Success
